CVSS v3.1 |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.20.4 until 4.2.1, ReadWriteLock let SQLite reopen the database and side files by name; on POSIX systems an attacker with rename access in a non-sticky parent can swap those names to cause overwrite or unlink operations, while a writable adjacent hot journal is additionally required for attacker-chosen content overwrites. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. Prior to 4.2.1, UnixFileLock can truncate a regular file renamed onto the lock path when another local user has actual rename permission, or hard-linked there under a permissive hard-link policy; when an explicit mode is requested, affected versions from 3.10.2 can also change that file's mode. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: s390: Fix race in _destroy_pages_crste()
Use READ_ONCE() in _destroy_pages_crste() to read the crste, avoid
dereferencing the pointer multiple times. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel/amdxdna: Remove __counted_by from struct amdxdna_cmd_chain
struct amdxdna_cmd_chain contains a flexible array annotated with
__counted_by(command_count). Since the structure is stored in shared
AMDXDNA_BO_SHARE memory, userspace can modify command_count concurrently.
If command_count is changed to zero, the bounds check generated from
__counted_by may fail and trigger a kernel panic.
Remove __counted_by to avoid relying on the userspace-controlled
command_count for the flexible array bounds check. |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.22.0 until 4.2.1, SoftFileLock can break a stale marker after an attacker frees its own marker following the stale read, an honest contender creates a live successor on the reused inode, and the successor's modification time is not newer than the saved observation, causing the live marker to be removed and two holders to be admitted. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| Time-of-check time-of-use (toctou) race condition in Windows Win32 Kernel Subsystem allows an authorized attacker to disclose information locally. |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 4.1.0 until 4.2.1, ReadWriteLock can remove a randomized .filelock-* private-hard-link directory during cleanup, allowing another local user with rename access in a non-sticky parent to observe a live name or forge a dead-owner sweep name and rename a sibling directory onto it for deletion. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 4.1.0 until 4.2.1, SoftReadWriteLock and AsyncSoftReadWriteLock cache a successful check of the <path>.rw lock tree and resolve its names again during later record operations, allowing another local user who can replace that tree after the first acquisition to redirect lock-record writes into directories writable by the lock user. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in OpenSSH for Windows allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: drain PS delivery work during station teardown
Removing an AP or mesh station can notify the driver and wake TXQs after
the station has already been removed from the driver, and can update
num_sta_ps and the power-save queues after station cleanup has purged
them.
sta_deliver_ps_frames() tests sta->dead only before it starts delivery. A
worker that passes that test can be delayed while teardown sets sta->dead
and removes the station from the driver; when it resumes it still runs the
full delivery.
The existing cancel_work_sync() sits near the end of
__cleanup_single_sta(), after the final driver state transition and after
PS accounting and queue purging, so it drains the worker only once the
state it has to protect has already changed. Before commit d34ba2168a3c
("mac80211: don't delay station destruction") cleanup was deferred
through the same ordered workqueue as the delivery work, which kept the
two ordered.
Cancel the work after setting sta->dead and before moving the driver
state, and move the existing cancellation to the start of
__cleanup_single_sta(). The first drain closes the driver-lifetime window;
driver callbacks during the remaining state transitions can still queue
drv_deliver_wk through ieee80211_sta_block_awake(), so retain the second
drain at the start of __cleanup_single_sta(). That drain also covers
insertion failures, which reach cleanup without setting sta->dead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/mctp: publish the mctp_dev only after it is initialised
mctp_add_dev() links the new mctp_dev into dev->mctp_ptr before mdev->dev
is assigned, so a reader that picks the device up in that window
dereferences a net_device pointer that is still NULL:

Fix by publishing only once the object is fully initialised:
__mctp_dev_get() runs under rcu_read_lock() only and hands
this object to readers as soon as mctp_ptr is assigned, so
they must never observe mdev->dev == NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
accel/ivpu: Validate firmware log buffer metadata
The tracing log headers parsed by fw_log_print_buffer() reside in
DMA-shared BOs that the NPU firmware can write to.
fw_log_from_bo() validated log->header_size and log->size, but
fw_log_print_buffer() re-read those same fields from shared memory
afterwards, allowing a TOCTOU where firmware changes them between the
check and the use, and making the host dereference out-of-bounds
addresses while printing logs.
Snapshot the validated values once with READ_ONCE() and pass them down
explicitly in a new struct ivpu_fw_log_desc instead of re-reading them
from the shared struct. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
eventfs: Use children field for rcu head and add memory barriers
When an eventfs inode is freed, it sets ei->is_freed and then uses its
ei->list to add it to the srcu link list as the list field is a union with
the rcu list head. As the ei->list is used to iterate over an SRCU
protected list without taking the eventfs_mutex, there's nothing stopping
the iteration over that list to see the ei->rcu instead of the ei->list
and it will read a corrupt target.
To fix this, change the union of the rcu list head with the children list.
On freeing the eventfs inode, set the is_free and execute a smp_wmb()
before adding the eventfs inode to the SRCU list.
On iteration of the ei->children list, at the start, execute a smp_rmb()
and then read the is_freed of the ei to see if the children list is still
valid. If is_freed is set, then the ei_child read is not valid and the
loop should exit immediately. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cxl/region: Block region delete during region creation
Expand the range lock, rename it "regions_lock", to disable region deletion
in the critical period between construct_region() and attach_target(), as
well as the period between device_add() and registering the remove actions.
Otherwise, userspace can confuse the kernel. It can violate the assumption
the region stays registered through the completion of cxl_add_to_region().
It can violate the assumption that devm_add_action_or_reset() is working
with a live 'struct cxl_region'.
It is ok for the region to disappear outside of those windows as that
mirrors device hotplug flows where the proper locks are held. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cxl/region: Resolve region deletion races
Sungwoo noticed that the sysfs trigger to delete a region may try to delete
a region multiple times. It also has no exclusion relative to the kernel
releasing the region via CXL root device teardown.
Instead of installing new cxl root devres actions per region, use the
existing root decoder unregistration event to remove all remaining regions.
An xarray of regions replaces a devres list of regions.
This handles 3 separate issues with the old approach:
1/ sysfs users racing to delete the same region: no longer possible now
that the regions_lock is held over the lookup and deletion.
2/ multiple actions triggering deletion of the same region: solved by
erasing regions while holding @regions_lock, and only proceeding on
successful erasure.
3/ userspace racing devres_release_all() to trigger the devres not found
warning: solved by sysfs unregistration not requiring a release action |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: cfg80211: use wiphy work for socket owner autodisconnect
nl80211_netlink_notify() walks the cfg80211 wireless device list when a
NETLINK_GENERIC socket is released. If the socket owns a connection, the
notifier queues the embedded wdev->disconnect_wk work item.
That work is a plain work_struct today. NETDEV_GOING_DOWN cancels it, but a
NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that already observed conn_owner_nlportid can
queue it after that cancel returns. _cfg80211_unregister_wdev() then
removes the wdev from the list and waits for RCU readers, but
synchronize_net() does not drain work queued by such a reader.
Make the autodisconnect work a wiphy_work instead. The callback already
needs the wiphy mutex, and wiphy_work runs under that mutex. This lets
teardown cancel pending autodisconnect work while holding the mutex,
without a cancel_work_sync() vs. worker locking concern.
Also cancel the wiphy work after list_del_rcu() and synchronize_net(). Any
NETLINK_URELEASE notifier that had already reached the wdev list has then
either queued the work and it is removed, or can no longer find the wdev. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix fsck inconsistency caused by incorrect nat_entry flag usage
f2fs_need_dentry_mark() reads nat_entry flags without mutual exclusion
with the checkpoint path, which can result in an incorrect inode block
marking state. The scenario is as follows:
create & write & fsync 'file A' write checkpoint
- f2fs_do_sync_file // inline inode
- f2fs_write_inode // inode folio is dirty
- f2fs_write_checkpoint
- f2fs_flush_merged_writes
- f2fs_sync_node_pages
- f2fs_fsync_node_pages // no dirty node
- f2fs_need_inode_block_update // return true
- f2fs_fsync_node_pages // inode dirtied
- f2fs_need_dentry_mark //return true
- f2fs_flush_nat_entries
- f2fs_write_checkpoint end
- __write_node_folio // inode with DENT_BIT_SHIFT set
SPO, "fsck --dry-run" find inode has already checkpointed but still
with DENT_BIT_SHIFT set
The state observed by f2fs_need_dentry_mark() can differ from the state
observed in __write_node_folio() after acquiring sbi->node_write. The
root cause is that the semantics of IS_CHECKPOINTED and
HAS_FSYNCED_INODE are only guaranteed after the checkpoint write has
fully completed.
This patch moves set_dentry_mark() into __write_node_folio() and
protects it with the sbi->node_write lock. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: mana: Guard mana_remove against double invocation
If PM resume fails (e.g., mana_attach() returns an error), mana_probe()
calls mana_remove(), which tears down the device and sets
gd->gdma_context = NULL and gd->driver_data = NULL.
However, a failed resume callback does not automatically unbind the
driver. When the device is eventually unbound, mana_remove() is invoked
a second time. Without a NULL check, it dereferences gc->dev with
gc == NULL, causing a kernel panic.
Add an early return if gdma_context or driver_data is NULL so the second
invocation is harmless. Move the dev = gc->dev assignment after the
guard so it cannot dereference NULL. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
powerpc/64s: Fix unmap race with PMD migration entries
The following race is possible with migration swap entries or
device-private THP entries. e.g. when move_pages is called on a PMD THP
page, then there maybe an intermediate state, where PMD entry acts as
a migration swap entry (pmd_present() is true). Then if an munmap
happens at the same time, then this VM_BUG_ON() can happen in
pmdp_huge_get_and_clear_full().
