| Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in esaml in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the Erlang VM atom table and crash the node via unsigned LogoutResponse messages.
esaml:status_code_map/1 in src/esaml.erl maps any StatusCode value it does not recognize to an atom with list_to_atom/1 on the last colon-separated segment of the URN. esaml_sp:validate_logout_response/2 verifies a signature only when the message carries one, so an unsigned LogoutResponse posted to the single-logout endpoint reaches esaml:decode_logout_response/1 and mints one permanent atom per distinct status value. Atoms are never reclaimed and the VM caps the atom table at about one million entries, so an attacker who posts that many distinct values aborts the node.
This issue affects esaml: from 0.1.0 onward. |
| Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in esaml_binding in dropbox esaml allows an unauthenticated attacker to exhaust the Erlang VM atom table and crash the node via a crafted SAMLResponse.
esaml_binding:decode_response/2 parses the decoded SAMLResponse with xmerl_scan:string/2, which interns every element name, attribute name, and namespace prefix it reads as a permanent atom. The SAML consume (ACS) and single-logout endpoints call it on unauthenticated requests before any signature check, so one well-formed document with thousands of distinct names mints thousands of atoms while staying inside the 128 KB request body limit. Atoms are never reclaimed and the VM caps the atom table at about one million entries, so a few dozen requests abort the node.
This issue affects esaml: from 0.1.0 onward. |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 allows the ImageMagick resource limits to be bypassed during thumbnail generation. When rcube_image falls back to GD, the available-memory check was applied only on Windows, so on other platforms a crafted image with large dimensions was processed by GD without any resource limit and could exhaust server memory. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Fix ImageMagick resource limits bypass by GD fallback during thumbnail generation”, which applies the memory check on all platforms. |
| Roundcube Webmail before 1.6.20 and 1.7.x before 1.7.5 is affected by an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in the CSS proxy (the utils/modcss action). The fetched stylesheet was read into memory in full, with no size limit and no read timeout, so a stylesheet URL referencing an attacker-controlled host could be used to exhaust server memory. Upstream fixed this in the commit “Add a size limit to the CSS proxy content processing”, which caps the response at 5 MB, reads it as a stream and applies a read timeout. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.0, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes large memory usage or long runtimes when an application retrieves the document's form fields. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.0. |
| VideoLAN libbluray through 1.5.1 contains an uncontrolled memory allocation vulnerability in _parse_extent_start_points() in clpi_parse.c that trusts the num_point field without bounds checking. Attackers can supply a crafted .clpi file on a disc, image, or directory with a huge num_point to exhaust memory and CPU, causing denial of service. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.0, an attacker can craft a PDF containing arrays or dictionaries with many elements, causing parsing to consume large amounts of memory. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.0. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.21.0, an attacker can craft a PDF containing a content stream with many small operations, causing parsing to consume large amounts of memory. This issue is fixed in version 6.21.0. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.20.0, accessing a crafted PDF stream with a large number of filters or multiple filters that pass around large amounts of data can cause large memory consumption. This issue is fixed in version 6.20.0. |
| Algorithm::UrataniTakeda versions from 0.1.5 before 0.1.7 for Perl allow memory exhaustion via a never-cleared failure shift cache in search.
The failure shift is cached for each pair of trie state and text character in a field of the matcher object, and nothing clears it. A character not seen before at a given state adds an entry that lasts for the life of the matcher.
An attacker who can submit text with many distinct characters to a long-lived matcher can grow its memory with each search. |
| filelock is a platform-independent file lock for Python. From 3.20.4 until 4.2.1, ReadWriteLock can open a crafted SQLite lock database without bounding schema and query work, allowing another local user who can replace the database to make acquisition stall or hang; versions from 3.20.4 expose this on initial per-instance opening, and versions from 3.30.0 repeat the exposure on every acquisition. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. |
| In `api-gateway` versions till `1.7.3`, The default rate-limit key resolver, `ClientIpKeyResolver`, derives the per-client bucket key from the leftmost element of the `X-Forwarded-For` request header. That element is supplied by the originating HTTP client and is not validated against any trusted-proxy list. A single attacker can therefore obtain an unlimited number of independent rate-limit buckets — one per unique header value — and completely bypass the gateway's request-rate limiting on every route that uses the shipped default configuration. |
| Text::CSV_XS versions before 1.65 for Perl allow memory exhaustion by allocating one entry per index of an RFC 7111 selector in fragment.
fragment expands a row= or col= selector into an array with one element per selected index before it reads any data, and it does not clamp an explicit end column in a cell= selector to the row. Only the syntax and order of the ranges are checked, so row=1-400000000 on a two-line file allocates 400 million elements.
An application that passes a request-supplied fragment to fragment or csv can be made to exhaust memory, which ends the process with an Out of memory error that eval cannot catch. |
| Text::CSV_XS versions before 1.65 for Perl allow quadratic CPU use by copying the unparsed remainder per record of CR-only input in getline.
With eol unset, the default, getline reads with Perl's default line separator, so input with CR-only line endings arrives as one chunk. After each record the parser copies the whole unparsed remainder into a new buffer, which the next call parses and copies again, so the work grows with the square of the input size.
A reader with default options that is sent CSV with classic Mac line endings spends seconds of CPU time on a megabyte of input. |
| Vulnerability in Oracle Java SE (component: JSSE). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 8u503, 8u503-perf, 11.0.32.1, 17.0.20.1, 21.0.12.1, 25.0.4.1; Oracle GraalVM for JDK: 17.0.20.1 and 21.0.12.1; Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition: 21.3.19.1.1. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via TLS to compromise Oracle Java SE. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle Java SE. Note: This vulnerability can be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. This vulnerability also applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 5.3 (Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L). |
