CVE-2026-23101 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: leds: led-class: Only Add LED to leds_list when it is fully ready Before this change the LED was added to leds_list before led_init_core() gets called adding it the list before led_classdev.set_brightness_work gets initialized. This leaves a window where led_trigger_register() of a LED's default trigger will call led_trigger_set() which calls led_set_brightness() which in turn will end up queueing the *uninitialized* led_classdev.set_brightness_work. This race gets hit by the lenovo-thinkpad-t14s EC driver which registers 2 LEDs with a default trigger provided by snd_ctl_led.ko in quick succession. The first led_classdev_register() causes an async modprobe of snd_ctl_led to run and that async modprobe manages to exactly hit the window where the second LED is on the leds_list without led_init_core() being called for it, resulting in: ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 11 PID: 5608 at kernel/workqueue.c:4234 __flush_work+0x344/0x390 Hardware name: LENOVO 21N2S01F0B/21N2S01F0B, BIOS N42ET93W (2.23 ) 09/01/2025 ... CVE-2025-71113 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: af_alg - zero initialize memory allocated via sock_kmalloc Several crypto user API contexts and requests allocated with sock_kmalloc() were left uninitialized, relying on callers to set fields explicitly. This resulted in the use of uninitialized data in certain error paths or when new fields are added in the future. The ACVP patches also contain two user-space interface files: algif_kpp.c and algif_akcipher.c. These too rely on proper initialization of their context structures. A particular issue has been observed with the newly added 'inflight' variable introduced in af_alg_ctx by commit: 67b164a871af ("crypto: af_alg - Disallow multiple in-flight AIO requests") Because the context is not memset to zero after allocation, the inflight variable has contained garbage values. As a result, af_alg_alloc_areq() has incorrectly returned -EBUSY randomly when the garbage value was interpreted as true: https://github.com/gregkh/linux/blame/master/crypto/af_alg.c#L1209 The check directly tests ctx->inflight without explicitly comparing against true/false. Since inflight is only ever set to true or false later, an uninitialized value has triggered -EBUSY failures. Zero-initializing memory allocated with sock_kmalloc() ensures inflight and other fields start in a known state, removing random issues caused by uninitialized data.
CVE-2025-71096 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/core: Check for the presence of LS_NLA_TYPE_DGID correctly The netlink response for RDMA_NL_LS_OP_IP_RESOLVE should always have a LS_NLA_TYPE_DGID attribute, it is invalid if it does not. Use the nl parsing logic properly and call nla_parse_deprecated() to fill the nlattrs array and then directly index that array to get the data for the DGID. Just fail if it is NULL. Remove the for loop searching for the nla, and squash the validation and parsing into one function. Fixes an uninitialized read from the stack triggered by userspace if it does not provide the DGID to a kernel initiated RDMA_NL_LS_OP_IP_RESOLVE query. CVE-2026-98438 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 3.7 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: options: fix uninit-value in mptcp_write_data_fin When sending a DATA_FIN without data, and because the DATA_FIN occupies 1 octet of the connection-level sequence space [1], it is then required to add a DSS mapping with specific values. If the checksum has been negotiated, it also needs to be computed, and included in the outgoing packet, and thus the initial csum data needs to be reset to 0 as well. This is no longer the case since commit cfcceb7a39fc ("tcp: shrink per-packet memset in __tcp_transmit_skb()"), because the whole ext_copy structure is no longer zeroed by default. This seems to be the only case where use_map is changed and set afterwards, so initialising the csum field only in this case, along with other fields for this specific case.
CVE-2026-98551 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 3.3 Low
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/core: Fill branch entries with a single assignment perf_clear_branch_entry_bitfields() clears the bitfields of struct perf_branch_entry one by one and leaves from/to alone, since callers overwrite those straight away. The list has to be kept in sync with the struct by hand and has already fallen behind: new_type and priv were added to perf_branch_entry and never added here. Only BRBE writes those two, and neither for every record. brbe_set_perf_entry_type() leaves new_type alone for a branch type it does not recognise, and priv is not set for source-only records. arm_pmuv3.c allocates the per-CPU branch stack with kmalloc(), so such a record reaches userspace with whatever the slot held: uninitialised kmalloc() data on the first pass over the buffer, the previous record's values after that. Nothing under arch/x86/events/ writes either field, so only arm64 is affected. Assign the whole entry at each site instead. Everything not named is then zero, and there is no list to keep in sync. The bitfields add up to exactly 64 bits, so the struct has no padding to leave undefined. perf_clear_branch_entry_bitfields() has no callers left, so remove it. perf_entry_from_brbe_regset() assigns an empty literal instead, since it fills from/to conditionally. PERF_BR_SPEC_NA is 0, so dropping the explicit spec assignment changes nothing.

CVE-2026-74617 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dibs: initialise dibs->lock in dibs_dev_alloc() dibs->lock is initialised by dibs_dev_add(), but a dibs device can already take interrupts before that call: ism_probe() runs ism_dev_init(), and hence request_irq(), before it calls dibs_dev_add(). No client can have registered a dmb at that point, so no dmb interrupt can occur, but a GID event interrupt can, and ism_handle_irq() takes dibs->lock unconditionally on entry, before it inspects anything else. Initialise the lock in dibs_dev_alloc() instead, so that it is valid as soon as a driver can publish the device to its interrupt handler.
CVE-2026-74453 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vc4: Zero the tile state data array before each BIN job The binner BO is a single 16MB buffer split into 512KB slots that are handed out to jobs at submission time and recycled as jobs complete, without ever being cleared. Each slot holds the job's Tile State Data Array (TSDA) at its start, followed by the tile allocation pool. While the tile allocation pool is only walked by the render thread through branches the binner generated during the current job, the TSDA is the PTB's own per-tile bookkeeping and is consumed by the hardware itself. Although the kernel sets the "Auto-initialise Tile State Data Array" flag in the tile binning mode configuration, the PTB demonstrably still acts on stale tile state left by the slot's previous user: the binner ends up creating invalid command streams with invalid primitive streams and branches, which can cause GPU hangs as observed in [1][2]. Zero the TSDA when the job's binning slot is configured. This clears 48 bytes per tile (~24KB for a 1080p frame) in the submission path, and guarantees the PTB never sees another job's tile state. The tile count is only checked for being non-zero today, so the 8-bit fields it comes from can describe a tile state array almost six times larger than the slot it has to live in. Bound it before the slot is handed out, since such size decides how much of the slot is left for the tile alloc pool.
