CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mfd: sm501: Fix potential memory leaks during remove
The memory allocated for struct sm501_devdata in sm501_pci_probe() and
sm501_plat_probe() is not freed by the corresponding remove functions
sm501_pci_remove() and sm501_plat_remove(). Fix that by adding a call to
kfree(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: iwlwifi: dvm: fix memory leak in iwl_op_mode_dvm_start()
In iwl_op_mode_dvm_start(), jumping to out_free_eeprom currently bypasses
the out_free_eeprom_blob label. Consequently, error paths triggered after
successfully parsing the EEPROM free priv->nvm_data but leak
priv->eeprom_blob.
Fix this memory leak by reordering the error handling labels so
that out_free_eeprom falls through to out_free_eeprom_blob.
The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are
developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing
v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly
available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still
present in v7.1-rc6.
An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have
supported Intel DVM wireless hardware and firmware to test with, no
runtime testing was able to be performed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfs: release readahead folios on iterator preparation failure
netfs_prepare_read_iterator() batches readahead folios in put_batch so that
the folio references can be dropped after the I/O iterator has been
prepared.
If rolling_buffer_load_from_ra() fails after earlier folios have been
batched, the function returns immediately and leaves those references held.
Release the batch before returning the error. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

When unloading the igen6_edac driver, there is a call trace:
Device '(null)' does not have a release() function, it is broken and must be fixed.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: hci_sync: hci_cmd_sync_queue_once() return -EEXIST if exists
hci_cmd_sync_queue_once() needs to indicate whether a queue item was
added, so caller can know if callbacks are called, so it can avoid
leaking resources.
Change the function to return -EEXIST if queue item already exists.
Modify all callsites to handle that. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/zcrypt: Fix memory leak with CCA cards used as accelerator
Tests showed that there is a memory leak if CCA cards are used as
accelerator for clear key RSA requests (ME and CRT). With the last
rework for the memory allocation the AP messages are allocated by
ap_init_apmsg() but for some reason on two places (ME and CRT) the
older allocation was still in place. So the first allocation simple
was never freed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: gadget: f_rndis: Fix net_device lifecycle with device_move
The net_device is allocated during function instance creation and
registered during the bind phase with the gadget device as its sysfs
parent. When the function unbinds, the parent device is destroyed, but
the net_device survives, resulting in dangling sysfs symlinks:
console:/ # ls -l /sys/class/net/usb0
lrwxrwxrwx ... /sys/class/net/usb0 ->
/sys/devices/platform/.../gadget.0/net/usb0
console:/ # ls -l /sys/devices/platform/.../gadget.0/net/usb0
ls: .../gadget.0/net/usb0: No such file or directory
Use device_move() to reparent the net_device between the gadget device
tree and /sys/devices/virtual across bind and unbind cycles. During the
final unbind, calling device_move(NULL) moves the net_device to the
virtual device tree before the gadget device is destroyed. On rebinding,
device_move() reparents the device back under the new gadget, ensuring
proper sysfs topology and power management ordering.
To maintain compatibility with legacy composite drivers (e.g., multi.c),
the borrowed_net flag is used to indicate whether the network device is
shared and pre-registered during the legacy driver's bind phase. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: lan966x: fix page pool leak in error paths
lan966x_fdma_rx_alloc() creates a page pool but does not destroy it if
the subsequent fdma_alloc_coherent() call fails, leaking the pool.
Similarly, lan966x_fdma_init() frees the coherent DMA memory when
lan966x_fdma_tx_alloc() fails but does not destroy the page pool that
was successfully created by lan966x_fdma_rx_alloc(), leaking it.
Add the missing page_pool_destroy() calls in both error paths. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Fix exception exit lock checking for subprogs
process_bpf_exit_full() passes check_lock = !curframe to
check_resource_leak(), which is false in cases when bpf_throw() is
called from a static subprog. This makes check_resource_leak() to skip
validation of active_rcu_locks, active_preempt_locks, and
active_irq_id on exception exits from subprogs.
At runtime bpf_throw() unwinds the stack via ORC without releasing any
user-acquired locks, which may cause various issues as the result.
Fix by setting check_lock = true for exception exits regardless of
curframe, since exceptions bypass all intermediate frame
cleanup. Update the error message prefix to "bpf_throw" for exception
exits to distinguish them from normal BPF_EXIT.
Fix reject_subprog_with_rcu_read_lock test which was previously
passing for the wrong reason. Test program returned directly from the
subprog call without closing the RCU section, so the error was
triggered by the unclosed RCU lock on normal exit, not by
bpf_throw. Update __msg annotations for affected tests to match the
new "bpf_throw" error prefix.
The spin_lock case is not affected because they are already checked [1]
at the call site in do_check_insn() before bpf_throw can run.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths
issue_beacon(), issue_probersp() and issue_asocrsp() obtain a management
xmit_frame together with its xmit_buf from the driver's fixed-size
management-TX pools via alloc_mgtxmitframe(). On the normal path the frame
is handed to dump_mgntframe(), which transfers ownership and eventually
returns both objects to their pools (the frame and, for beacons, the buf
in rtl8723bs_mgnt_xmit(); other bufs via the pending-xmitbuf/TX-completion
path).
Several error/edge paths return early after a successful
alloc_mgtxmitframe() but before dump_mgntframe(), so ownership is never
transferred and neither object is freed:
- issue_beacon(): beacon larger than 512 bytes
- issue_probersp(): cur_network->ie_length > MAX_IE_SZ
- issue_probersp(): kzalloc() of the SSID scratch buffer fails
- issue_asocrsp(): pkt_type is neither ASSOCRSP nor REASSOCRSP
Because alloc_mgtxmitframe() removes the frame and buf from their free
lists (list_del_init) without placing them on any pending list, an
orphaned pair is on no list and referenced by nobody, so it is only
reclaimed at driver teardown. Repeated hits progressively exhaust the
management-TX pools until alloc_mgtxmitframe() returns NULL and the
interface can no longer send beacons or probe/assoc responses.
Free the frame and buffer on these paths, matching the existing correct
error handling in issue_assocreq(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rtw88: Use devm_kmemdup() in rtw_set_supported_band()
Simplify the code by using device managed memory allocations.
This also fixes a memory leak in rtw_register_hw(). The supported bands
were not freed in the error path.
Copied from commit 145df52a8671 ("wifi: rtw89: Convert
rtw89_core_set_supported_band to use devm_*"). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
most: core: fix resource leak in most_register_interface error paths
The function most_register_interface() did not correctly release resources
if it failed early (before registering the device). In these cases, it
returned an error code immediately, leaking the memory allocated for the
interface.
Fix this by initializing the device early via device_initialize() and
calling put_device() on all error paths.
The most_register_interface() is expected to call put_device() on
error which frees the resources allocated in the caller. The
put_device() either calls release_mdev() or dim2_release(),
depending on the caller.
Switch to using device_add() instead of device_register() to handle
the split initialization. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath12k: Fix memory leak due to multiple rx_stats allocation
rx_stats for each arsta is allocated when adding a station.
arsta->rx_stats will be freed when a station is removed.
Redundant allocations are occurring when the same station is added
multiple times. This causes ath12k_mac_station_add() to be called
multiple times, and rx_stats is allocated each time. As a result there
is memory leaks.
Prevent multiple allocations of rx_stats when ath12k_mac_station_add()
is called repeatedly by checking if rx_stats is already allocated
before allocating again. Allocate arsta->rx_stats if arsta->rx_stats
is NULL respectively.

| One logical thread of a user-mode ThreadX module costs the Module Manager's shared object pool two allocations, not one. The module asks for a `TX_THREAD` control block through `txm_module_object_allocate`; `_txm_module_manager_thread_create` then takes a second allocation of `TXM_MODULE_KERNEL_STACK_SIZE` bytes for the privileged kernel stack that thread's system calls run on, and records it in the control block. Both come from `_txm_module_manager_object_pool` and both are linked onto the module's allocation list.
The Module Manager's thread-delete dispatcher released only the first. The kernel stack stayed allocated until the whole module was stopped, so a module that creates, terminates and deletes threads in a loop — every state transition valid, every service returning `TX_SUCCESS` — removed a fixed block from a finite pool shared by the manager and by every other loaded module, on every cycle, for as long as it stayed loaded. Once the pool is exhausted, no memory-protected module can create any kernel object and no user-mode module thread can be created anywhere in the system.
Vulnerable function: `_txm_module_manager_tx_thread_delete_dispatch`, in `common_modules/module_manager/inc/txm_module_manager_dispatch.h`. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
autofs: fix sbi->pipe file reference leak in autofs_kill_sb()
When autofs_fill_super() fails before clearing AUTOFS_SBI_CATATONIC (for
example, when find_get_pid() fails on an invalid pgrp mount option, or
when an fs_context is closed before mounting), deactivate_locked_super()
invokes autofs_kill_sb() -> autofs_catatonic_mode(sbi).
Because AUTOFS_SBI_CATATONIC is still set in sbi->flags,
autofs_catatonic_mode() returns early without calling fput(sbi->pipe),
permanently leaking the pipe struct file reference.
Explicitly release sbi->pipe in autofs_kill_sb() if it is still non-NULL
after autofs_catatonic_mode(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tg3: clean up PHYLIB resources on probe failure
tg3_get_invariants() can register an MDIO bus and connect a PHY for
USE_PHYLIB devices. If tg3_init_one() later fails, its common error path
releases the mappings and netdev without undoing those PHYLIB resources.
Disconnect the PHY and unregister the MDIO bus before the remaining
teardown. Guard PHY cleanup with USE_PHYLIB to match tg3_phy_init(), and
call tg3_mdio_fini() unconditionally to match tg3_mdio_init(). The existing
IS_CONNECTED and MDIOBUS_INITED flags make both helpers safe when
initialization only completed partially.
This issue was identified during our ongoing static-analysis research while
reviewing kernel code. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: Fix dst leak for uncached routes.
ip6_route_output_flags(), ip6_rt_put_flags(), and ip6_dst_check()
detect an uncached route by list_empty(&rt->dst.rt_uncached),
which replaced the static DST_NOCACHE flag check in commit
a4c2fd7f7891 ("net: remove DST_NOCACHE flag").
When a device is unregistered, rt6_uncached_list_flush_dev()
unlinks uncached routes tied to the device from rt6_uncached_list.
Previously, they were moved to another list with list_move()
(__list_del_entry() + list_add()), and since commit 98aa546af5e4
("inet: remove (struct uncached_list)->quarantine"), the routes
are just unlinked with list_del_init().
If list_del_init() runs concurrently, list_empty() evaluates to
true; ip6_route_output_flags() calls dst_hold_safe() incorrectly
and ip6_rt_put_flags() skips ip6_rt_put(), leaking dst, and thus
dev tied via rt->from as well.
The same race is partially fixed by commit 9a6f0c4d5796 ("dst:
fix races in rt6_uncached_list_del() and rt_del_uncached_list()").
Let's check rt6->dst.rt_uncached_list instead.
Note that IPv4 does not have the same issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fou: reject omitted FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO on FOU_ENCAP_DIRECT
Commit 7a9bc9e3f423 ("fou: Don't allow 0 for FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO.") added
NLA_POLICY_MIN(NLA_U8, 1) to fou_nl_policy[FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO], which
rejects an explicitly supplied FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO == 0 attribute with
-ERANGE.
However, FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO is an optional netlink attribute. When a user
sends FOU_CMD_ADD with FOU_ATTR_TYPE set to FOU_ENCAP_DIRECT and omits
FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO entirely, nla_policy validation succeeds and
parse_nl_config() leaves cfg->protocol as 0 (from memset(cfg, 0,
sizeof(*cfg))). fou_create() then creates a FOU_ENCAP_DIRECT socket with
fou->protocol == 0.
In fou_udp_recv(), returning -fou->protocol to udp_queue_rcv_one_skb()
triggers IP protocol resubmission when fou->protocol > 0, whereas
returning 0 tells the UDP tunnel layer that the skb was consumed without
freeing it. When fou->protocol == 0, every packet received on the socket
returns 0 from fou_udp_recv() and leaks the sk_buff.
Reject FOU_ENCAP_DIRECT when !cfg->protocol in fou_create() so that
creating a direct encapsulation port without FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO fails with
-EINVAL while leaving FOU_CMD_DEL and FOU_CMD_GET (which share
parse_nl_config()) unaffected.
Tested in QEMU against Linux 7.3.0-rc3 by sending a FOU_CMD_ADD Generic
Netlink request with FOU_ATTR_PORT = 5555 and FOU_ATTR_TYPE =
FOU_ENCAP_DIRECT while omitting FOU_ATTR_IPPROTO. On the unfixed kernel,
FOU_CMD_ADD succeeds (err = 0), FOU_CMD_GET reports fou->type = 1 and
fou->protocol = 0, and sending 4000 UDP packets to 127.0.0.1:5555 leaks
all 4000 sk_buffs (SUnreclaim in /proc/meminfo grows from 41456 kB to
59008 kB, +17552 kB); with this patch applied, FOU_CMD_ADD is rejected
with -EINVAL (-22). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfc: llcp: fix sdreq TLV list leak on parse/alloc/send failure
nfc_genl_llc_sdreq() builds a list of TLV nodes while walking nested
netlink attrs, but 3 error paths (nested-attr parse failure, TLV alloc
ENOMEM, nfc_llcp_send_snl_sdreq() failure) all skip freeing what was
already queued.
Route them through a new free_list label, mirroring the SDRES path in
the same file which already does this. Harmless on the success path
too -- send_snl_sdreq() drains the list as it moves nodes, so it's
already empty by the time free_list runs. |
