| CVE-2024-47736 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: handle overlapped pclusters out of crafted images properly syzbot reported a task hang issue due to a deadlock case where it is waiting for the folio lock of a cached folio that will be used for cache I/Os. After looking into the crafted fuzzed image, I found it's formed with several overlapped big pclusters as below: Ext: logical offset | length : physical offset | length 0: 0.. 16384 | 16384 : 151552.. 167936 | 16384 1: 16384.. 32768 | 16384 : 155648.. 172032 | 16384 2: 32768.. 49152 | 16384 : 537223168.. 537239552 | 16384 ... Here, extent 0/1 are physically overlapped although it's entirely _impossible_ for normal filesystem images generated by mkfs. First, managed folios containing compressed data will be marked as up-to-date and then unlocked immediately (unlike in-place folios) when compressed I/Os are complete. If physical blocks are not submitted in the incremental order, there should be separate BIOs to avoid dependency issues. However, the current code mis-arranges z_erofs_fill_bio_vec() and BIO submission which causes unexpected BIO waits. Second, managed folios will be connected to their own pclusters for efficient inter-queries. However, this is somewhat hard to implement easily if overlapped big pclusters exist. Again, these only appear in fuzzed images so let's simply fall back to temporary short-lived pages for correctness. Additionally, it justifies that referenced managed folios cannot be truncated for now and reverts part of commit 2080ca1ed3e4 ("erofs: tidy up `struct z_erofs_bvec`") for simplicity although it shouldn't be any difference. | ||||
| CVE-2024-26679 | 3 Debian, Linux, Redhat | 3 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2026-10-15 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: inet: read sk->sk_family once in inet_recv_error() inet_recv_error() is called without holding the socket lock. IPv6 socket could mutate to IPv4 with IPV6_ADDRFORM socket option and trigger a KCSAN warning. | ||||
| CVE-2023-52699 | 2 Debian, Linux | 2 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel | 2026-10-15 | 5.3 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sysv: don't call sb_bread() with pointers_lock held syzbot is reporting sleep in atomic context in SysV filesystem [1], for sb_bread() is called with rw_spinlock held. A "write_lock(&pointers_lock) => read_lock(&pointers_lock) deadlock" bug and a "sb_bread() with write_lock(&pointers_lock)" bug were introduced by "Replace BKL for chain locking with sysvfs-private rwlock" in Linux 2.5.12. Then, "[PATCH] err1-40: sysvfs locking fix" in Linux 2.6.8 fixed the former bug by moving pointers_lock lock to the callers, but instead introduced a "sb_bread() with read_lock(&pointers_lock)" bug (which made this problem easier to hit). Al Viro suggested that why not to do like get_branch()/get_block()/ find_shared() in Minix filesystem does. And doing like that is almost a revert of "[PATCH] err1-40: sysvfs locking fix" except that get_branch() from with find_shared() is called without write_lock(&pointers_lock). | ||||

| CVE-2026-63988 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-08 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: Fix sleep in atomic context in sysfs path Since the start of the git history, brport_store() always acquired the bridge lock. Back then this decision made sense: The bridge lock protects the STP state of the bridge and its ports and at that time the function was only used by two STP related attributes (cost and priority). Nowadays, brport_store() processes a lot more attributes and most of them do not need the bridge lock: * Bridge flags: Only require RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path. Annotations can be added in net-next. * FDB port flushing: Only requires the FDB lock. * Multicast attributes: Only require the multicast lock. * Group forward mask: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path. Annotations can be added in net-next. * Backup port: Only requires RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path. This is a problem as the bridge calls dev_set_promiscuity() when certain bridge port flags change and this function can sleep since the commit cited below, resulting in a splat such as [1]. Fix this by reducing the scope of the bridge lock and only take it when processing the two STP related attributes that require it. Remove the now stale comment from br_switchdev_set_port_flag(). The SWITCHDEV_F_DEFER flag can be removed in net-next. | CVE-2026-63989 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-10-08 | 5.5 Medium |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: Fix sleep in atomic context in netlink path Since the introduction of the netlink configuration path for bridge ports in commit 25c71c75ac87 ("bridge: bridge port parameters over netlink"), br_setport() was always called with the bridge lock held around it. Back then this decision made sense: The bridge lock protects the STP state of the bridge and its ports and at that time the function only processed three STP related netlink attributes (cost, priority and state). Nowadays, br_setport() processes a lot more attributes and most of them do not need the bridge lock: * Bridge flags: Only require RTNL. * Backup port and NHID: Only require RTNL. Read locklessly by the data path. This is a problem as the bridge calls dev_set_promiscuity() when certain bridge port flags change and this function can sleep since the commit cited below, resulting in a splat such as [1]. Fix this by reducing the scope of the bridge lock and only take it when processing the three STP related attributes that require it. This is consistent with the multicast attributes where each attribute acquires the multicast lock instead of having one critical section for all relevant attributes. | CVE-2026-90158 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-20 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: m68k: nfcon: Do not call console_is_registered() in nfcon_device() Since 7c2af0f634f1 ("tty: tty_io: use console_list_lock for list synchronization") show_cons_active() calls the .device() method under the console_list_lock, but console_is_registered() tries to acquire console_list_lock as well, causing a deadlock. It should not be necessary to check console_is_registered() here since the function should not be called in the fist place when the console is not registered. | ||||
| CVE-2026-93057 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-09-19 | N/A |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Avoid possible memory reclaim deadlock in TX EQTR context TX EQTR may run while devfreq gear scaling has quiesced the UFS tagset. In that context, functions ufshcd_tx_eqtr(), __ufshcd_tx_eqtr() and ufs_qcom_get_rx_fom() allocate memory with GFP_KERNEL. If direct reclaim is triggered, reclaim/writeback can depend on I/O to UFS device. Because the queue is quiesced, this can cause deadlock. Use memalloc_noio_save/restore() in ufshcd_tx_eqtr() to cover all allocations in the TX EQTR call tree, including: - params->eqtr_record in ufshcd_tx_eqtr() - eqtr_data in __ufshcd_tx_eqtr() - params in ufs_qcom_get_rx_fom() This is preferred over tagging individual call sites with GFP_NOIO, as it automatically covers any future allocations added anywhere in the call tree without requiring each caller to be aware of this constraint.
