| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
EDAC/altera: Use parent device for devres in altr_portb_setup()
Anchor the devres group and the devm-managed IRQ requests in altr_portb_setup()
to the actual parent device (device->edac->dev) instead of the embedded struct
device inside the copied per-port altr_edac_device_dev.
This keeps devres_open_group(), devm_request_irq(), devres_remove_group() and
devres_release_group() all referring to the same long-lived device so the
group and the resources allocated inside it are torn down together. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Bluetooth: btnxpuart: Fix skb leak in nxp_process_fw_dump()
When CONFIG_DEV_COREDUMP=n, hci_devcd_append() returns -EOPNOTSUPP
without freeing its skb argument. This leaks the cloned skb and also
prevents nxp_set_ind_reset() from being called to perform recovery.
Fix by guarding the hci_devcd_append(hdev, skb_clone(skb, GFP_ATOMIC))
call with IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_DEV_COREDUMP). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/virtio: fix object leak in virtio_gpu_resource_create_ioctl()
virtio_gpu_resource_create_ioctl() calls drm_gem_object_release() on the
drm_gem_handle_create() error path instead of dropping the reference it
owns, so obj->funcs->free() never runs and the virtio_gpu_object, its
pages and sg table, the resource id and the host-side resource are
leaked.
Use drm_gem_object_put() instead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: Prevent rt6_insert_exception() for dying fib6_info.
Before the cited commit, fib6_nh_flush_exceptions() always set
from->exception_bucket_flushed = 1 under rt6_exception_lock to
prevent rt6_insert_exception() from inserting a new exception
for a dying fib6_info.
The flag was replaced with the FIB6_EXCEPTION_BUCKET_FLUSHED
bit stored in nh->rt6i_exception_bucket.
The problem is that now the bit is only set when the bucket
is not NULL and fib6_nh_flush_exceptions() is called from
fib6_nh_release() after fib6_ref has already reached zero.
If rt6_insert_exception() is called while the target fib6_info
is being removed via fib6_purge_rt(), a new exception could be
created successfully because rt6_flush_exceptions() no longer
sets the bit.
This creates a reference cycle between the fib6_info and the
exception route, leaking the fib6_info, its nexthop device,
and all per-CPU routes in fib6_nh->rt6i_pcpu, which stalls netdev
unregistration.

[ 55.176582] unregister_netdevice: waiting for gre6 to become free. Usage count = 68
Let's call fib6_drop_pcpu_from() before rt6_flush_exceptions(),
to set fib6_destroying before rt6_exception_lock, and check
f6i->fib6_destroying in rt6_insert_exception().
Note that FIB6_EXCEPTION_BUCKET_FLUSHED logic is dead and
we can clean it up in net-next. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/rds: size a connection's path set by the transport it ends up with
__rds_conn_create() computes npaths from the caller's transport before
it decides whether a connection to one of the host's own addresses is
to be handled by the loopback transport instead. That substitution is
what an RDS/TCP socket sending to a local address gets, and after it
the path init loop still runs for the TCP transport's RDS_MPATH_WORKERS
paths and allocates an ordered workqueue for each, while
rds_loop_conn_alloc() only ever provides transport data for path 0.
rds_conn_destroy() sizes its teardown from c_trans, by then the
loopback transport, so it visits path 0 only - and
rds_conn_path_destroy() would skip the other paths anyway, since it
returns before destroy_workqueue() for a path without transport data.
kfree(c_path) then drops the last pointers to seven workqueues. That
repeats for every such connection, on every netns teardown or module
unload, and every distinct local destination address is a separate
connection.
Recompute npaths once the transport is final, so that creation and
destruction agree on the set of paths. The c_path array stays sized
for the caller's transport; the unused entries are freed with it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fsl/fman: Fix clk reference leak in read_dts_node()
of_clk_get() returns a clock with its reference count incremented, but
read_dts_node() only uses it to read the rate and never calls clk_put().
The clock is not stored anywhere, so the reference cannot be released
later either.
Release the clock once its rate has been read, which also covers the
error path taken when the rate is zero. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/mlx5: Fix rev_entry reference leak in mlx5_tc_ct_shared_counter_get()
When the reverse entry is found but its counter is already being
released, refcount_inc_not_zero() fails and the reference taken by
mlx5_tc_ct_entry_get() is never dropped before falling through to
create_counter. Drop it so the reverse entry is not kept alive forever
by a shared counter lookup that did not use it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: don't let memory failures leak blocks and kill repairs
LOLLM complains that a memory allocation failure in
xrep_newbt_add_blocks results in online repair leaking blocks that were
previously allocated to write a new btree, but the problem is worse than
that -- a limitation of the codebase is that the callers cannot undo the
transaction /and/ return the error -- either you undo all changes and
commit the transaction, or you error out and the filesystem goes down.
However, the new btree space reservation object isn't that big (~48
bytes). Let's just do a NOFAIL allocation and the problem goes away. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: fix secure device page leak on uv_page_in() failure
In kvmppc_svm_page_in(), if uv_page_in() fails after
kvmppc_uvmem_get_page() has succeeded, the secure device page is never
released. kvmppc_uvmem_get_page() sets a bit in kvmppc_uvmem_bitmap,
allocates a kvmppc_uvmem_page_pvt struct, marks the GFN as
KVMPPC_GFN_UVMEM_PFN, and calls zone_device_page_init() which sets
refcount=1 and locks the page. The subsequent goto out_finalize skips
the *mig.dst assignment, so migrate_vma_finalize() is a no-op for the
page, and none of those resources are ever reclaimed.
Each occurrence permanently consumes one entry from the firmware-bounded
secure memory pool (kvmppc_uvmem_bitmap), leaks pvt, and leaves the GFN
marked as secure — making it unusable for the lifetime of the VM.
The twin __kvmppc_svm_page_out() already handles the analogous uv_page_out()
failure correctly with unlock_page(dpage); __free_page(dpage). Apply
the same pattern here: unlock_page() followed by put_page(), which
chains through free_zone_device_folio() into kvmppc_uvmem_folio_free()
to clear the bitmap bit, free pvt, and reset the GFN state.
Reachable whenever uv_page_in() returns an error (e.g. UV pool
exhaustion) on any POWER9/10 + Ultravisor/PEF system. |
| ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a memory leak in the GIF encoder because allocated memory is not released when color quantization fails during encoding. Attackers can supply images whose GIF conversion causes quantization to fail, leaking memory with each attempt and degrading availability. |
| The MCP Python SDK, called mcp on PyPI, is a Python implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP). From 1.8.0 until 1.30.0 and 2.2.0, stateful Streamable HTTP servers, including FastMCP, MCPServer, Server.streamable_http_app(), and StreamableHTTPSessionManager, retain session entries without an idle expiration or aggregate session-count limit. DELETE, refused opening requests, and completed sessions do not reliably discard their entries, and each entry can retain parsed initialize parameters. A client that can reach the endpoint can therefore create ordinary short requests that grow server memory without bound until restart. Stateless HTTP, stdio, and SSE transports are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 1.30.0 and 2.2.0. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: sensor: custom: Fix field sysfs group cleanup on failure
hid_sensor_custom_add_attributes() creates one sysfs group for each
custom sensor field. If sysfs_create_group() fails after some groups
have already been created, the function returns the error without
removing the previously created groups.
Add a local unwind path to remove the groups that were already created.
With enable_sensor exposed only after the field attributes are ready,
this path can free sensor_inst->fields without leaving enable_sensor
able to access pointers into that array. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NTB: ntb_transport: Reject oversized TX buffers
ntb_process_tx() handles an oversized buffer by calling tx_handler()
with a NULL data pointer and returning success. ntb_netdev therefore
neither frees the skb in its completion callback nor takes its enqueue
error path, leaking it.
Reject oversized buffers in ntb_transport_tx_enqueue() before acquiring
a queue entry and return -EMSGSIZE. The caller retains ownership of the
buffer, and the preceding netdev patch frees the skb when enqueue
returns this permanent error. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mptcp: reclaim forward-allocated memory on RX path errors
After commit 9db5b3cec4ec ("mptcp: borrow forward memory from subflow"),
errors in the receive path prior to queueing skbs into the receive
queue do not trigger forward-allocated memory reclaiming.
Prevent forward memory from growing unboundedly in pathological drop
scenarios by explicitly reclaiming memory when skbs are dropped. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: usb: ax88179_178a: fix skb leak in ax88179_tx_fixup()
When the interface has NETIF_F_SG enabled and skb_linearize() fails in
ax88179_tx_fixup(), the function returns NULL without freeing the skb.
usbnet_start_xmit() treats a NULL return from tx_fixup() as a drop
(info->flags does not set FLAG_MULTI_PACKET for this driver), jumping
to the "drop" label where it does `if (skb) dev_kfree_skb_any(skb)`.
Because tx_fixup() returned NULL, the local skb variable in
usbnet_start_xmit() is NULL, so the original skb is never freed — a
memory leak on every TX frame whose linearization fails (i.e. under
memory pressure).
Free the skb before returning, matching the error handling already used
for the pskb_expand_head() failure path in the same function. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: bridge: release template ct on non-IP path
A bridge nftables ct zone set rule can attach a conntrack template to
an skb before nf_ct_bridge_pre() sees it. For non-IPv4 and non-IPv6
EtherTypes, nf_ct_bridge_pre() currently overwrites skb->_nfct with
IP_CT_UNTRACKED without releasing the existing template reference.
That makes the per-cpu template, and any temporary templates allocated
for concurrent use, unreachable and leaks memory until the host runs out
of slab.
Reset the skb conntrack state before marking the frame untracked so the
existing template reference is dropped on the non-IP path. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: act_ct: fix sk_buff leak when the header checks reject a packet
tcf_ct_handle_fragments() runs its header sanity checks before handing
anything to the defragmentation engine:
if (family == NFPROTO_IPV4)
err = tcf_ct_ipv4_is_fragment(skb, &frag);
else
err = tcf_ct_ipv6_is_fragment(skb, &frag);
if (err || !frag)
return err;
tcf_ct_ipv4_is_fragment() returns -EINVAL or -ENOMEM;
tcf_ct_ipv6_is_fragment() adds -EPROTO when ipv6_find_hdr() fails. None of
them frees or queues the skb, so on that path the caller still owns it.
tcf_ct_act() however funnels every non-zero return into the
ownership-transfer exit:
err = tcf_ct_handle_fragments(net, skb, family, p->zone, &defrag);
if (err)
goto out_frag;
...
out_frag:
if (err != -EINPROGRESS)
tcf_action_inc_drop_qstats(&c->common);
return TC_ACT_CONSUMED;
TC_ACT_CONSUMED means the action took ownership of the skb, so no caller
frees it - sch_handle_ingress(), sch_handle_egress() and
tcf_qevent_handle() all deliberately skip the free for that verdict. The
skb is therefore orphaned: one sk_buff plus its data buffer is leaked per
malformed packet, unbounded. Note the drop counter is already incremented
for these errors, so the statistics claim a drop that never happens.
Three different ownership states reach out_frag: today - the skb may be
queued by the defrag engine (-EINPROGRESS), already freed by
nf_ct_handle_fragments(), or still owned by us. Tell the caller which of
those it is, and free the packet ourselves in the last case, which
restores the TC_ACT_SHOT behaviour that predated the Fixes: commit.
Reproduced on v7.2-rc6 with a 54-byte frame carrying a 40-byte IPv6
header with nexthdr = 0 (hop-by-hop) and nothing after it, on a
clsact ingress chain with "action ct". kmemleak reports one leaked
232-byte skbuff_head_cache object plus its 704-byte data buffer per
packet; with this patch it reports none. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
igbvf: Fix leak in TX DMA error cleanup
If an error is encountered while mapping TX buffers, the driver should
unmap any buffers already mapped for that skb.
Because count is incremented before each frag mapping, it will always
match the correct number of unmappings needed when dma_error is reached.
Decrementing count before the while loop in dma_error causes an
off-by-one error. If any mapping was successful before an unsuccessful
mapping, exactly one DMA mapping (the head) would leak.
This bug was introduced by a 2010 fix for an endless loop in dma_error.
All other affected drivers have already been fixed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
afs: Fix netns teardown to cancel the preallocation charger
Fix the teardown of an afs network namespace to make sure it cancels the
work item that keeps the preallocated rxrpc call/conn/peer queue charged
before incoming calls are disabled (i.e. listen 0).
Also, if net->live is false because the afs netns is being deleted, make
afs_charge_preallocation() skip charging and make afs_rx_new_call() avoid
requeuing the charger.
